Souls of Our Neighbors trailer
February 4, 2012
In addition to the compelling, original videos we feature from our Charlotte Viewpoint team of contributors, Director of Film Donald Devet shines the spotlight on some of the best short videos from around the world. As curator of our Video Gallery, Donald identifies and shares videos that are thought provoking, inspirational, innovative and just plain fun.
This week's featured video is a 2-minute preview of the powerful documentary, "Souls of Our Neighbors: Fears, Facts and Affordable Housing."
From the curator: When Russ Gill of Professional Communications showed me his videos about affordable housing in Charlotte, I immediately knew we had to showcase them here on Charlotte Viewpoint. Russ obviously cares deeply about this issue, and has used his gift of video story telling to bring this important issue to the attention of our community.
The full 28-minute documentary features the stories of six Charlotte residents who have benefitted from affordable housing. The SOON project was spearheaded by Crossroads Charlotte, Mecklenburg Ministries, and Temple Beth El to create community dialogue around the issues of affordable housing and homelessness.
