Ronald Carter, Ph.D., is President of Johnson C. Smith University. Prior to assuming his role in July 2008, Dr. Carter served as provost and dean of the faculty at Coker College. He earned a B.A. in Sociology and Philosophy (Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa) at Morehouse College, his Master of Theology, Philosophy of Religion, at Boston University, and hisPh.D., Philosophy of Religion, at Boston University.
