Uzzie Cannon / Author
Uzzie Cannon is an Assistant Professor of English at Johnson & Wales University. Originally from Greenville, SC, she has lived and attended school throughout North and South Carolina. After completing her Ph.D. at UNC Greensboro and teaching in Savannah, GA, she is in Charlotte for a second time and hopes to remain. When not teaching in African American, American, and Caribbean literatures, Uzzie researches in Gender and Cultural Studies. In her spare time, when she finds it, she loves leisure reading, photography, sports, and listening to jazz.
