Wails of disbelief,
Swell out of midnight,
Clouds of purple and grey,
Mix with sweat,
And libations of blood,
As grief,
Coursing through constricted veins,
Drains a crimson river,
Down brown skin,
Encasing a fainting heart,
Eyes glazed over,
Hands up,
Grasping for hope,
Settling on the horizon,
That is the Sun,
Longing for warmth,
On brown skin,
Again.
