Keeping Christmas
December 6, 2012
Charlotte theater veteran Kevin Campbell has played Ebenezer Scrooge 10 times and has appeared in over 13 theater adaptations of Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol. This year, Kevin not only is reprising his role at Theare Charlotte but also is directing the play, which he says is "perfect for community theater."
Wearing two hats is a challenge for both Kevin and his fellow actors at Theatre Charlotte, the oldest community theatre in North Carolina. Kevin's portrayal of Scrooge is a holiday tradition in Charlotte - for himself, as well as for a generation of theater-goers.
The show opens Dec. 7 at Theatre Charlotte.

This piece is part of the Charlotte Arts Journalism Alliance, a consortium of local media dedicated to writing about the arts.
