Mike Clement

Mike Clement / Advisor

Mike Clement is the founder and managing partner of Strait Insights. After a 22 year career in Bank of America's Human Resources function merging and acquiring banks, Mike led the Corporate Communications function from 2003-2008. His background includes experience in global markets with human resource, communications, public relations, and government experience.  A native of Richmond, Virginia, Mike earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a master’s degree in organizational development from Queens University of Charlotte.  He currently serves on the board of the Urban Ministry Center (homeless outreach) and just finished a six-year term with the Catawba Lands Conservancy. Throughout his career, he has served on numerous boards, including mayoral appointments to the Civil Service Boards in both Tampa and Charlotte.

Pamela Davies

Pamela Davies / Advisor

Pamela Davies is president of Queens University of Charlotte.  She is the former Dean of the McColl School of Business, and before coming to Queens University, she was Professor of Management and Dean of the LeBow College of Business at Drexel University.   She is a member of the executive committees of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, the YMCA USA, and the World Council of YMCA; the Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities; North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities; Women Corporate Directors; the U.S. National Whitewater Center; N.C. Campus Compact, The Future of the Library Task Force for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library; and Presbyterian Hospital's Grand Rounds Lecture Series.  She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Florida, her master's degree from Missouri State University and her Ph.D. in strategic planning and international business from the University of Tennessee.

Linda Lockman-Brooks

Linda Lockman-Brooks is president of Lockman-Brooks Marketing Services.  The firm provides marketing and strategic counsel, leadership development and executive coaching services.  Her extensive skills in strategic communications initiatives within merger and changing environments are enhanced by her ability to bridge diverse cultural perspectives.  Linda got her start in marketing on the corporate level with Trans World Airlines (TWA). She honed her account management skills on the agency side at J. Walter Thompson and went on to manage marketing organizations at American Express, NationsBank, now Bank of America, and Duke Power, now Duke Energy.  Linda is the chair of the board of the Arts and Science Council and on the board of the Charlotte Chamber She is a past chair of the board of the YWCA, Women’s Inter-Cultural Exchange and the Children’s Theater of Charlotte. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri- St. Louis.


Patricia Morton

Patricia Morton / Advisor

Patty Morton is founder of PRM Advisors.  Patty has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years.  She spend most of her career at JP Morgan, and has also worked  at Alex Brown and Deutsche Bank, living in  New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and London.  She has been an active member of the North Carolina community, she currently serves on the following boards: the Bechtler Museum, Nasher Museum-Duke University, Johnson C Smith University,  National Humanities Center, North Carolina Biotechnology Center, Carolina Performing Arts-UNC.and Queen City Forward.  Patty is an undergraduate of Duke University and received her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

Cyndee Patterson

Cyndee Patterson / Advisor

Cyndee Patterson is president of the nonprofit organization that owns and operates the historic Duke Mansion and The Lee Institute. Previously, she was president and founder of Patterson Blake, Inc., a corporate meeting and event planning, and organization and development consulting firm. Cyndee served as an at-large Charlotte City Council member, 1985-1993 and Mayor Pro Tem, 1989-1991.  Community recognition includes the 1997 Women of the Year, the 1992 Charlotte Chamber Women Entrepreneur, the 1990 Spirit Award, the 2003 Evie Lifetime Achievement Award, the Special Events Magazine National Gala for Best Corporate Event, and the 2001 Marie R. Rowe Award for support of the Arts. Cyndee is currently the Bechtler Museum of Art Board Chair, a member of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and Women's Impact Fund advisory boards, a member of the Charlotte Leadership Working Group, and on the American Leadership Forum national board.

G. Patrick Phillips

Pat Phillips has served as a director of Cardtronics, Inc. since February 2010. Pat retired from Bank of America in 2008, after a 35-year career, most recently serving as president of Bank of America's Premier Banking and Investments group. He also serves on the board of directors of USAA Federal Savings Bank where he serves as chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee. Pat previously served as a director of Visa USA and Visa International from 1990 to 2005 and 1995 to 2005, respectively. He received a Masters of Business Administration from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and graduated from Presbyterian College.

Carol Quillen

Carol Quillen / Advisor

Carol Quillen is president of Davidson College.  She came to Davidson from Rice University in Houston, Texas, where she served most recently as vice president for international and interdisciplinary initiatives. A member of the history faculty at Rice since 1990, she served from 2004 to 2008 as the first director of the university's Boniuk Center for the Study and Advancement of Religious Tolerance.  From 2006 to 2010, she served as Rice's vice provost for academic affairs, focusing particularly on faculty diversity and faculty development, resource development, and initiatives that cross academic disciplines.  She earned a B.A. degree in American history from the University of Chicago, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with special and general honors, then received a Ph.D. degree in European history from Princeton University.
