We are seeking columns, essays, reviews, fiction and poetry that explore our creative life as citizens in the broadest terms. We do not publish partisan political commentary. We are seeking work for an informed and literate audience. Contributions should not exceed 1500 words. Please submit text documents in Word format.

Previously Published Work/Exclusivity:

We do not accept previously published work for our City Life and Arts & Culture sections. We do accept previously published work for our Fiction & Poetry and Image & Video sections with attribution. The author retains ownership and copyright of their work and may re-publish their work elsewhere subject to Charlotte Viewpoint Terms and Conditions.

Response Time:

We aim to respond to inquiries within 10 days.

In some cases, Charlotte Viewpoint may pay writers for work accepted for publication. If payment is to be rendered, amounts will be discussed with authors before publication.

Editorial Discretion:

Charlotte Viewpoint retains editorial discretion in the selection of work for publication. Many factors enter into the selection of a piece. Selected works may be edited, although we will work with the author in doing so.

The relationship between Charlotte Viewpoint and the author is subject to Terms and Conditions in which the author retains copyright of their work and grants Charlotte Viewpoint a non-exclusive license to use the work in furtherance of Charlotte Viewpoint's charitable and educational purposes.

Charlotte ViewPoint brings people together to share their insight and talents about the civic and cultural life of the region.

We are citizens invested in the creation of place.
